From Broadway to the Classroom

Come From Away Word Cloud

Highlighting the generosity of the human spirit, kindness and coming together – all themes from the musical “Come From Away,” which opens at the Van Wezel Hall this week – Van Wezel Teaching Artists Connie Cuadrado and Maria Schaedler-Luera will lead area students from Booker Middle School and Unidos Now Middle and High School Clubs in arts-based workshops to explore these themes through drama or visual art.

Made possible through the Van Wezel Foundation, and its generous donors, each arts-based workshop is one hour and culminates in an exhibition of photographs and quotes in the Grand Foyer of the Van Wezel Hall during “Come From Away” performances.

Participating students and their families will attend a performance of “Come From Away,” with their tickets underwritten by the Van Wezel Foundation.

We invite you to stop by the Grand Foyer to enjoy the students’ incredible work.
